Safety Measures
1. ENTRY AND EXIT- SCHOOL BUILDING
A. Students’ Entry and exit
Safe entry into the school and smooth exit from the school are extremely important in ensuring the safety of children as these are crucial points of contact and considered extremely sensitive. All students and staff members have been issued photo identity cards by the school to ensure identification. They have been instructed to wear the same inside the school campus at all times. During entry and exit, students are accompanied by lady attendants.
Permission/ Written Consent is taken from parents when students travel outdoors for educational excursions. Blanket consent has also been taken from parents for the school records to ensure that parents are aware of the purpose and the precautions associated with such excursions. A Standard Operating Procedure is also in place for such excursions which is implemented and followed religiously.
B. Parents’ and Visitors’ Entry AND EXIT
The school building is a safe fortress of learning during school hours. The school follows a careful screening process for all parents/ visitors entering the school premises. No visitor is allowed beyond the school reception during school hours. Parents also not allowed to enter the premises or visit the classrooms during school hours. A visitor log book is maintained in the guard cabin for record and reference.
C. EDUCATIONAL EXCURSIONS AND PICNICS

Whenever students travel outside, adequate staff and support staff accompanies the students to ensure safety and comfort.
2. SCHOOL INFRASTRUCTURE
Schools, being the second home, serve a number of purposes in a child's life. From boosting their confidence to making them learn the importance of team work and socialisation, schools do it all. Away from home, schools become the place for children to spend their maximum time. Therefore, the school must be a welcoming haven for students to enjoy, grow and learn. The infrastructure must encourage and support modern learning practices and must be tailored to the learning needs of children.
a. DESIGN
As per the available and existing infrastructure of the school, preschoolers and pre-primary children have been accommodated on the ground and I floors. Primary classes are situated on the second and the third floors. The infrastructure of these lower classes has been designed to promote learning in the most effective ways. The furniture and the classes have been designed as per the height of the students on each floor. Further, the washrooms are also designed to cater to the needs of younger children.
All the classrooms are fully- air-conditioned, equipped with digital interactive boards and properly maintained.
Regular monitoring of classrooms is done for checking the maintenance of physical infrastructure including air-conditioning is also done.
Designated Floor incharges and the school nurse regularly check the cleanliness in all the classrooms and the common areas of the school.
B. SAFETY
All electrical switchboards, sockets and harmful objects are beyond the reach of students.
Emergency exit plans/ School Building Plans are displayed near classrooms and staircases. Older students have also been trained to read the evacuation plans.
C. CCTV CAMERAS
The school has 64 cameras installed across all the important locations of the school. The main server of the CCTV cameras is located in the Principal’s office for constant surveillance. All the washrooms areas, common areas, classrooms and play areas have been covered including the access points, gates, roads leading up to the school etc.
D. Lift Management
The school has an elevator facility to allow safe and comfortable journeys to the upper floors for the students. Students travel in the lift under adequate supervision and are never left unaccompanied. The disaster management committee conducts regular elevator safety checks to avoid any incidents. Further, it also conducts Lift Safety Drills to educate and sensitize children towards the norms of lift usage so that they can act in their best interests.
E. Washroom Management
The school has separate washrooms for boys and girls and all washrooms are duly supervised by the lady attendants stationed on each floor. Each floor also has staff washrooms. All washrooms have running water and well-functioning plumbing. All washrooms have soap dispensers, wash basins appropriate to the height of children, and waste bins. All washroom areas are under CCTV surveillance to ensure utmost safety and to avoid untoward incidents.
The lady attendants are also responsible for the cleaning, upkeep and maintenance of the washrooms on their floors.
F. SPLASH POOL
The school has a splash pool facility for making summers more enjoyable for our tiny toddlers. The water level in the pool has been purposely kept low to ensure safety. The pool activities are closely monitored by the teachers and the lady attendants. Changing rooms have been provided to allow privacy and ensure safety. Splash Pool periods are mentioned in the time table and students bring the necessary swimwear and gear. The sessions are designed in such a manner that boys and girls visit the pool in two different groups to allow privacy.
G. TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT
The school has an air-conditioned bus for the conveyance of students to and from the school. The school bus is regularly monitored by the transport incharges for all the safety protocols. Whenever the school bus is operational on the predefined routes, a live tracking GPS notification is sent via Whatsapp to the parents to track the movement of the school bus.
During the morning entry time, duty teachers are posted at all the gates along with the lady attendants who escort the students to the classes. During the afternoon dispersal, duty teachers are again posted at the gates and other sensitive points. Lady attendants are stationed at the staircases to avoid injuries. Male support staff is stationed outside to ensure smooth dispersal.
All the staff members of the school have been subjected to police verification and are trustworthy. The school also has access to the records of the private van drivers.
Students are handed over to the parents/ guardians only when they produce the parents’ copy of the ID card. The ID card has pictures of the parents/ guardians printed on it which makes it easier for the staff to identify them.
