Green School

Initiatives by our Students

The students of Class 1 took part in a Waste Scavenger Hunt in the school.

Children went around their classrooms, corridors, and playground to look for different types of waste. They found things like paper pieces, pencil shavings, wrappers, bottles, and fruit peels. The students then discussed which items were really waste and which could be reused or recycled. They also learnt about the importance of throwing garbage in the dustbin and keeping the school clean. Through this fun activity, the children understood that waste should not

be littered, and we must always try to reuse, reduce, and recycle to protect our environment.

They also shared ideas on how to reduce waste in daily life, like using both sides of paper, carrying reusable lunch boxes, and always throwing waste in dustbins.

The students of Class 2 took part in a Segregating Waste and Composting in the school.

Children understand why we should not mix all the waste together and should throw waste in labelled dustbins accordingly like in blue dustbin they have throw waste papers,in yellow metal waste,in pink plastic ,in red E-waste,in green glass and in brown organic waste. Children learned how to separate waste into wet waste and dry waste.

The students of Class 3 took part in Eco-friendly packaging.

Through this activity, students gained knowledge about harmful effects of plastic packaging. They learned to think critically about real-life environmental issues and suggest practical solutions.

Initiatives by our School

Sitting Corner: Waste tyres were painted beautifully and arranged to create a lovely sitting corner. The tyres were reused to make tables and puffies for sitting. This not only added beauty to the school environment but also showed how waste can be turned into useful furniture.

Pot Stands and Garden Area: Old tyres and bicycle rims were also reused as pot stands, giving a colorful and creative look to the garden and school. Waste mud pots were turned into innovative plant holders, adding greenery and freshness to the surroundings.

Bird House and Decorative Items: With leftover pieces of wood, the school created bird houses, providing small shelters for birds and promoting care for nature. A waste sieve was reused as a decorative hanging item, showing how simple materials can become art with imagination. Bicycle wheels were also reused for decorative purposes, adding a creative touch to the school’s sustainable décor.
